A downloadable game
My game is a puzzle game where you have to figure out the anomaly.
Five things that went right were
- Breaking the project into smaller tasks kept me from getting overwhelmed
- Improved my debugging skills since I started this course
- Playtesting provided useful feedback
- Helped me organize code better and use functions more effectively
- Got the basis of the game down
Five things that went wrong
- It was hard to tell what the anomaly was and what the default room for my game was
- My initial idea included more features than I realistically had time to implement.
- I focused more on functionality so the game lacked strong visuals, sound design and animations
- Inconsistency in difficulty. It should have progressed harder and harder each level
- I had trouble with certain features like setting UI up
If I had time to fix up the game, I would improve on the art and make it so the room would get exponentially harder. I would also clear up on what the default room is and add sound effects to the game. Overall, I would just polish up the game to make it better
